Why Rose Loves Your Skin

Rose has been touted for centuries for it’s beauty invigorating qualities. It is well-known that Cleopatra used Rose Water on her skin to keep her complexion fair (it was all the rave), and she bathed in petal soaked milk. It has been documented that rose water has been used in Persia for almost 2000 years in perfumes and cosmetics. It’s now come back into fashion with a vengeance.

We now know that rose water and rose essential oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why it’s in so many beauty products you see these days. Rose hip seed oil (taken from the fruit of certain fruit varieties) is high in vitamin C, which helps protect the skin from sun spots and reduces redness.

The most packed-full rose product I LOVE and use anytime I have a blemish, and great during dehydrating travel, is the Rose Hydrosol and Rose Regenerative Facial Oil by Veriditas Botanicals. It’s strong and active. I add a drop directly on a blemish, or dilute it in my Scarlet Sage Power Serum (which contains Rose Absolute – the CO2 extract of rose) in order to add some more juice to the existing beauty punch. Here’s a few ideas:

Travel: Put 5 drops of Rose Regenerative Facial Oil on one hand, a splash of water on the other – rub together 3 times and rub lightly all over your face. Dab lightly around the eyes. This will help with reducing redness and dehydration on a airplane, and little sleep.

Nightly Treatment: Cleanse your face, pat dry. Hydrate with 2-3 pumps of Rose Hydrosol. Add 2 drops of Rose Regenerative Facial Oil to 1/2 dropperful of Scarlet Sage Power Serum (or an oil-based serum of your choice), and rub all over the skin, massaging in tiny circles. You can do this day and/or night.
