IN-PERSON: Moxibustion Basics, Healing with Heat with Erin Wilkins - April 8th, 1-3PM
Moxibustion therapy is the use of Moxa herbs to warm acupuncture points for therapeutic benefit.
Moxa is made from the leaves of the mugwort plant and is processed into various forms. It provides a deep penetrating heat that is healing and comforting.
Its use in Chinese Medicine predates written history.
Erin Wilkins of HerbFolk will lead this live in-person class as a hands-on workshop.
In this class you'll learn:
- History and traditional practice of moxibustion
- Intro to Eastern energetics
- How to moxa common acupuncture points and parts of the body
- Cautions and contraindications
A moxibustion stick is included with this ticket.
Erin Masako Wilkins is an Asian American herbalist and acupuncturist. Her clinical work is rooted in Eastern energetic theory - tapping into her own ancestral healing traditions to empower others to restore health and prevent illness. She has been a practicing herbalist for over a decade specializing in Asian folk remedies and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is passionate about applying Eastern energetics to domestically grown herbs and herbal medicine.
A seasoned educator, her classes include Asian American herbalism and folk traditions, TCM theory, seasonal wellness, and community care workshops. Erin has a master’s degree from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA. Her book, “Asian American Herbalism: Traditional and Modern Healing Practices for Everyday Wellness ” is set for publication in October 2023.

Out of respect for our teachers, we kindly ask you to cancel at least 24 hours in advance, as the seating for our classes is very limited. If you should have to cancel your registration, notification in writing should be sent by email. Please make sure you state your name and the name of the class in your email.
- An event credit in the amount of the original purchase price will be issued for cancellations received 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Please contact us by email to register for another class of your choice. Event credit is available for a period of six months - according to availability.
- No event credit will be issued for cancellations received within 24 hours of the event, nor failure to attend.
ADA Compliance:
Our Wellness Space and School of Traditional Healing Arts is located below Scarlet Sage, and is not ADA compliant; you will need to walk down 15 stairs to access the classroom and the Wellness Space. Please let us know if you need help walking into the space. We apologize for the inconvenience.
