IN-PERSON: Making a Witch's Broom with Jessica Hahn - October 19th, 5:30-7:30PM PT

$75

Let everyone sweep his own front door and the whole world will be clean!  Goethe

A handmade broom is a special art –  also, it is very old (connecting us with our ancestors and their living and breathing spaces), practical (cleaning debris from the floor, or dust bunnies from the corners) and magical (for purification; opening and closing ritual circles; sweeping in good energy, or literally moving out unwanted influences).

This in-person workshop gives you the supplies and know-how to create a “cobweb style” broom, the favorite of the teacher. Not only is it absolutely functional for use around your home, but it is the witchiest looking broom!

Supplies for one broom are included in the workshop. Your broom will be made with natural, undyed, and unprocessed broomcorn, nylon twine, and you will be given a beautiful ash wood handle (naturally finished, rough to the touch, symbolic of primal life). You can bring (but it is optional) any charms to tie to a hanging cord on your broom.

No prior experience needed, but you will need to hold a tensioning device for 20-30 minutes, without stopping, once you begin the process of broom making. (If you need accommodations, please email ahead of time).

This class will be live in-person at The Scarlet Sage Herb Co., 1193 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94110.

*COVID Protocols. Masks are required for all participants, although the teacher will be unmasked. Please do not come if you are feeling unwell. Thank you!
