Limpias for Spiritual Cleansing With Napaquetzalli - February 15, 7-9 pm

Limpias for Spiritual Cleansing With Napaquetzalli - February 15, 7-9 pm - The Scarlet Sage Herb Co.

Limpias are a spiritual practice used in many cultures indigenous to this continent, especially in Mexican curanderismo/folk medicine.

Limpias are a spiritual cleansing practice done with fresh plants, flowers, prayers and intention. We traditionally use limpias to heal from emotional and spiritual imbalances, or after acute shock and trauma to support the spirit and emotional body. Limpias can help us during any major life transitions, to help shed stagnant energy and to call in healing and clarity.

It is a beautiful process that helps one release emotions in a safe space with the guidance of plant spirits and ancestors.

In this hands-on class, Napaquetzalli will lead the group in a self-limpia ritual and instruct participants in how to facilitate this practice for themselves.

About Napaquetzalli (Apache/Yaqui):

Napa is a queer Xicana/Indigenous herbalist and healer. Napa has studied both traditional Mexican curanderismo as well as clinical Western herbalism, with a passion for creating accessible and culturally relevant herbal medicine for their community.

Napa is a co-founder of Curanderas Sin Fronteras, a collective that provides spiritual and herbal support for the Bay Area Latinx community and also works as an herbalist at the Scarlet Sage Herb Co. in SF Mission District.

Napa's practice is rooted in helping others reconnect to ancestral and intuitive knowledge, as well as decolonizing our relationships to the earth, our bodies, and each other.
