Join local herbalist Bonnie Rose Weaver on an herb walk at Sutro Baths and Lands End; together we will explore the botanical beauty of our urban Pacific Coast.

We will discuss the traditional and modern use, folklore, and herbal preparation techniques of the plant allies thriving in the old baths and surrounding gardens. The class with also include some local historical and ecological information. A unique and fun class for plant lovers, open to all levels and people ages 10 and up.

The walk will start outside of Lookout Cafe, 680 Point Lobos Avenue in SF, CA and will follow the California Coastal Trail.

We recommend that participants wear a sunhat, good walking shoes, bring notebook, pen/pencil, an extra layer, and a water bottle.

Pack a lunch if you wish to extend your day’s journey, the 8.8 mile trail ends at the Golden Gate Bridge. A light snack will be provided.

About Bonnie Rose Weaver:

Bonnie Rose Weaver is a clinical herbalist, medicinal landscaper, and lifelong San Franciscan. She is an urban farmer, medicine maker, outdoor educator and is the author of Deeply Rooted: Medicinal Plant Cultivation in Techtropolis.

She has studied the use and cultivation of medicinal plants at The Blue Otter School of Herbal Medicine, The Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm, and Herb Pharm. She is an artist of watercolor and clay.

Out of respect for our teachers, we kindly ask you to cancel at least 24 hours in advance, as the seating for our classes is very limited. If you should have to cancel your registration, notification in writing should be sent by email. Please make sure you state your name and the name of the class in your email.

- An event credit in the amount of the original purchase price will be issued for cancellations received 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Please contact us by email to register for another class of your choice. Event credit is available for a period of six months - according to availability.

- No event credit will be issued for cancellations received within 24 hours of the event, nor failure to attend.
