Heather Cohen has an MA in Counseling from the California Institute of Integrative studies and has been both studying and working with clients for years to help them process and integrate traumatic memories caught in the body and nervous system. Her method of choice is EMDR counseling because it has helped her clients move past repetitive or intractable traumatic memories or behaviors and move into choice and freedom in how they want to live.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a modality designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR reduces affective distress, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal (stress) is reduced.
EMDR uses bi-lateral stimulation (tapping on the right and left side of the body) to help your body re-process and integrate old stuck memories giving the client distance and perspective which allows choice in future responses.
These new associations are thought to result in complete information processing, new learning, elimination of emotional distress, and development of cognitive insights. EMDR uses a three pronged protocol: (1) the past events that have laid the groundwork for dysfunction are processed, forging new associative links with adaptive information; (2) the current circumstances that elicit distress are targeted, and internal and external triggers are desensitized; (3) imaginal templates of future events are incorporated, to assist the client in acquiring the skills needed for adaptive functioning.
Heather Cohen earned her Master’s degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in January of 2000 and a certification in Mediation from the Washington School of Law. She has been offering psychic tarot and astrology counseling for over 10 years.

Her readings integrate psychic, shamanic, somatic, and psychological/counseling information to give you the most complete and accurate guidance along with action steps for after the session.
Heather comes from a long line of Ukrainian and Spanish/ Moroccan Jewish mystical readers, her culture is woven through her readings and gives them a unique flavour.

Your appointments are very important to all members of our team at Scarlet Sage. Time allocated for an appointment is reserved especially for you. We do understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for adjustments to your appointments and for cancellations.
If you should have to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you can do so by using the link on your confirmation email (coming from the Sesami online platform) at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
There will be no refund for notification given less than 24 hours prior to appointment time or failure to show up.
Arrival:
Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment so you can decompress. To maintain the blissfulness of our space, we ask that you silence your mobile phones and electronic devices upon arrival. When arriving, please wait in the store for your appointed time.
Regretfully, untimely arrivals may be subject to reduced treatment time, in order to remain on schedule for subsequent guests.
